I created an .xl file with multiple sheets once. I made
changes to it and merged the two. Now when I open the
file a pop-up says this is linked to another workbook, do
I want to update the other workbook? The answer will
always be No. How do I get rid of this pesky pop-up from
asking this question?

I'd use Bill Manville's FindLink program:

Then I could decide what to do (convert to values??).
