Xerox Multifunction Photocopiers

L

linda wotherspoon

have been asked to give an opinion on whether or not one
of our remote sites should purchase a photocopier that is
also capable of printing, scanning and faxing. I am very
doubtful that this is going to work with the terminal
server farm but I wondered if anybody out there has had
any direct experience with these Xerox products. I don't
know which model they are going to go for but among the
photocopiers on the list are
Document Centre 235CFP, 285CFP, 405CFP, 606CP, 240CPSF.

Are any of you out there using these multifunction
photocopiers? I know there are problems using the small
SOHO multifunction devices, but these are different
suckers and I wondered if the issues are the same?

Thanks for any responses

Hi Linda,

We have about 25 of the large Xerox copiers running
on this site, they are used for copying, printing,
scanning and faxing. They work absolutely fine with our
terminal servers.

We use mainly the 432ST and 440ST. You just have to
be a bit careful with the Xerox drivers. We mixed
different versions of the same driver once and this
caused all kind of weird happenings.

Hey, there!
I work quite extensively with these printer models, and
although my site does not use Terminal Services, I can
tell you that the printer/copiers are GREAT!! If you want
to fully utilize the network scanning capability, you'll
want to have an FTP server that houses the receiving
folders. Xerox provides PaperPort and ImageRetriever to
automate the image retrieval process.

I have found Xerox techs to be extremely helpful, so if
you have questions, please ask.
