Hi there -

Anyone knows something about resetting the toner in Xerox?
The menu says the toner is empty, but I know it's not.
But how do I reset?

Because different manufacture may have different reset command, so you may
want to GOOGLE for specific manufacture and model. Or better yet, Google
for the PDF Manual and it should tell you what to do.

Thanx for your advice. But I dont think the company wants to share this
detail with the buyers.

There is NO secret for company to hide, and as I said it should be part of
User Manual. And GOOGLE has nothing to do with whatever company but regular
users like you and me, and people like to share their own experiences to
others.

I have reset several toners and drumers of several different models from
different manufactures (like Epson, HP, Brothers)

The manufacturer set the life limit of toners etc so as to give the best
performance - if you overide this limit you may find that performance
deteriorates.

Many toner cartridges have a waste toner container built in - this may
make you think that there is more usable toner than there really is.

So Elle is thinking about cheating and worrying that the manufacture keeps
the command secret to prevent Elle cheating?

Elle doesn't seem to realize that RESETING is part of marketing (replacing
empty toner/drumer with newer one), and part of operating.

- Toner is dirt cheap, Elle can buy a remanufactured or refilled one for
probably around $20-30. The Elle will have to RESET for the printer to
realize that this is a brand new toner/drumer

- If Elle wants and knowing how, then Elle can buy a bottle of toner to
refill the old empty toner with new toner. A bottle of toner may cost
around $10-20 and may have enough to refill more than 2 (depending on the
toner yield).

Thank you guys for your nice letters -
Unfortunately your did not read my first input: How do I reset my
toner? That is what I still want to know. Because I have 4 half empty
toners and the xerox 6121 tells me that they're all empty.
I cant find where to do it. Not the printers menu or the IP-menu have
the possibility.

Again thanx a lot.

AGAIN, Google for the answer, and better yet READ the User Manual then
follow the instruction
Again thanx a lot.

Again, you are quite welcome.
