Xana newsreader. Version 1.17.2.2 released 5th February 2005.

Can anyone who uses/used it comment on this newsreader?

A few features:
Support for Multiple News (NNTP) Servers.
Multiple threaded engine. Supports three threads per news server so
you can simultaneously download group lists, message headers and
messages for multiple servers.
Threaded multicolumn tree message display. Display messages in thread
or chronological order. Sort threads or messages by date, size,
author or subject.
Powerful message deleting feature. Delete messages that don't match
your criteria.
Threads that contain messages to you are displayed highlighted.
Intelligent resume/cancel button.
Powerful configurable message filters can be created for individual
newsgroups, or all newsgroups on a server.
Decode UUE, Base64 and yEncoded messages.
SSL Support.
Integrates with ISpell spell checker.
POP3 E-Mail reading capability.

I tied it and it looks pretty good, a bit like Outlook Express, but with
yEnc support and more features. All in all, I recommend it..

Can I download headers only, tag them and fetch the respectigve
postings? Although I am by now using broadband with a quota, I still
believe, this feature is im,portant for all those who have to pay the
phone line by the minute.
