X850 AGP won't let me install Windows Media 2005 or Vista

Hello,

I have red x850 Pro 256MB card - P/N 102A4750501 made in china also on front
PN 109-A47501-00ATI card. The memory is Samsung 504 K4J553230F-GC16. It
displays the BIOS screen but goes black immediately when going to XP Media
or Vista. It does display Windows XP Pro SP2 no problem though. This unit
will start the install of either of the other two but will go black very
quickly. Not sure if there is a firmware update I can get or a work around
short of using the VGA adapter (my monitor only has DVI input and the VGA to
DVI converter doesn't work for some reason). I am running an MSI Neo2 P865
motherboard - latest bios 2.5. I can install the OS using other cards on the
same system - I tried switching back to this card after installing the OS
and it goes back to black during boot and stays black.

It was a surprise - it is listed as supported.

I submitted a help desk request - still no response. I was going to give
them more information that it doesn't work VGA to CRT but once a ticket is
open, I can't add more replies until they send me something new to reply to.

I tried calling them this morning - after 25 minutes on hold - hadn't spoken
to anyone, I heard a ringing and the phone line went dead.

Finally got through - they won't deal with the issue because they haven't
gotten many calls about this so far. I guess my only hope is that several
people will call - enough so that they'll actually consider it a real
concern.

I inserted my X850 Pro AGP card in my computer which has a dual boot
XP/Vista Premier Home installation. This was after I had installed the dual
boot system with a 9550 250AGP card. The screen did not go black but it
appeared that although Vista recognized the card correctly it the resolution
was very low (perhaps less than 600x800). I manually changed it to a
resolution that I normally use and it worked OK. Unfortunately the card has
a power connector problem and will be going to ATI for some warranty work.

the Moon and Pluto, line up exactaly on the 4th Sunday
of a leap year and its 48C in Redmond WA, then the
following products are supported!!
