X800XL AGP resolution support question

I'm looking at upgrading my LCD from a Samsung 191T to this ChiMei LCD

http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16824252008

After visiting the ATI website and digging up resolution info, I would
like to know if anyone out there is running a LCD at the 1680x1050
resolution of the ChiMei?

I ask because in the info I did find on the ATI site, this resolution
wasn't listed, and it said 16:9 widescreen was supported in 1920x1080
and 848x480 on Windows XP. It also mentions that the complete list of
resolutions depends on the driver version so I'm hoping my card will
support this monitor.

On that note, what driver version are you using? I have had no trouble
with my current setup so haven't updated drivers in a while. Is it
worth it to install the .NET just to update drivers, or are the Omegas
working fine for everyone?

Thanks for any help.

Lo I'm running the same resolution with this card on a 22inch widescreen
viewsonic with no probs m8.
I'm using 6.10 drivers and yes you should install the .net because other
programs may require it to run.

I've had that resolution with every driver at least with the 6.xx series. I
don't use the CCC drivers, just the standalone drivers with ATI Tray Tools
and MultiRes a handy little program to quickly change resolutions. You can
google each of these to download if you want them or you could use the CCC
drivers and have the resolution available there as well.

Thanks to Tam and JT for your help with this. I appreciate both of you
taking time to answer.
