ok where are the framerate gurus:

suppose you got a 3,0 P4 with a FX5900 and FS9 running at 1280x1024,
4xAA, 8xAF

since FS9 is so CPU dependant, do you think a X800 Pro will make much
of a difference here? if so, how much?

thxalot!!!

FS9 is very much CPU dependant but still needs a good vid card. Your CPU is
fast anyway and your vid card isn't too bad either. If you have money to
burn though I would get a new vid card, probably an ATI as the AF and AA is
better. If you have 512MB of RAM I suggest uprading to 1GB. It won't do much
for your overall frame rate but it makes things smoother and loading times
are a bit quicker.

The real killer in FS9 is flying amongst the clouds. I have a 9600 Pro and I
have to turn off the 3D clouds to make things smooth but I can still run
with all other sliders maxed at 1280*1024 with x2 AA/4 AF.
