X-Fi on Vista is a joke, goodbye Creative!!!

So in more than four months, Creative did just one build, which in my case
still doesn't solve any of the problems: crackling and poppin, sudden sound
hangs which can be solved only by rebooting or by "resetting" settings in
the creative audio console (settings I never touched).

Vista is RTM since a year now, and Creative still didn't get one of its
best-selling products working decently.
UNBELIEVABLE!!!

I used to have a very good opinion about Creative, remembering my AWE64
gold, and especially the Live! series, which constantly were being updated
and improved over time. A shame they don't work in Vista anymore.
Now if you have an Audigy you even have to PAY to get some features working
on Vista, not speaking of the audio problems which make the Audigy2/X-fi
cards so unreliable I can't even believe it's possible.

That's it Creative, I've had enough. I am uninstalling all software and
drivers, will remove the card and switch to my on-board AC97 sound, until I
get myself a new mobo with HD sound, for which I will pay attention not to
contain any chip from Creative.

The X-Fi card that came with my 1.5 year old Gateway works fine with all of
the drivers that have come out since I installed Vista on 2/2/07.
