I have been getting this error since installing a wireless
linksys card. Have tried to change ip addresses error
still occurs. Have found all kinds of thing explaining the
error but nothing on how to fix it or reset it. Can anyone
help.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Have you tried LSPFix yet? It repairs WinSock 2 problems and it appears that the LinkSys installation may have damaged your WinSock installation.

I found a solution to the Linksys WSAStartup not yet performed. I'
using a Dell Lattitude LS400 Windows2000 with a Linksys WPC54G card.

1) Remove all of the Linksys programs with "add/remove programs"
2)Reboot
3) Look on the web for a free program called "winsockfix.exe". Downloa
it and run it.
4)After another reboot from that program, reinstall the Linksy
drivers/WLAN monitor.
5)The problem should be gone now, but if it does not, don't un-instal
the Lynksys drivers and simply run the winsockfix.exe program again.
When the program finishes, try running the Linksys WLAN monitor again.
The WLAN monitor is the window that comes up that lets you set WEP
SSID, etc.
6) That should do it. If the problem comes up again, run th
winsockfix.exe program again while leaving the Linksys driver
installed.

This problem often happens when running the McAfee Firewall. It puts
link in the win socket and when you rupgrade to a new PCMCIA Card, th
link is broken.

Good Luc
