wrong language

MVA

Hi,
I have a problem with IE6 that is just freaking me out. When I right click
and the menu comes up it is in a foreign language. This started a 3-4 days
ago and now when a page won't load it's in the other language and part of
the save favorites window. It seems to be getting worse. I've done virus
scans, checked for spyware/adware and they all come back clean. I haven't
done anything added/removed, etc. in the last week, at least I don't
remember if I did, and i've checked the system info and have found nothing
there. Can somebody Please, Please help me get my english back.

Thank you,
Michelle

Hi MVA :)

You don't mention the version of Windows that you are using, so all I can do
is guess. Try the following for your OS and see if it helps:

If you have the Google Toolbar or any other 3rd party toolbars installed,
disable it and see if that helps. If not, uninstall and reinstall it. If
you have Yahoo Companion, uninstall it.

Safely Delete the Temporary Internet Files

Make sure the language you have selected to use is installed.

Check in IE>Tools>Internet Options>General>Accessibility
and Control Panel>Accessibility Options>Display

For normal viewing nothing should be checked in these sections. Also check
the setting in Control Panel>Accessibility Options>Display is set to Windows
Standard and make sure the High Contrast is not checked.

Go to>View>Encoding
Make sure the Auto-Select is not checked, and the language you want to use
is selected.

Options for enabling Unicode in Internet Explorer 5, 5.5 and 6

If you have more than one language installed, check to be sure the one you
want to use is at the top of the list under Languages on the Tools>Internet
Options>General tab

Hope this helps.
