Wrong homepage associated with web-address

When I try to go to www.symantec.com I end up with an
older version of my own webpage that I didn't even know
existed anymore.

I managed to find it on hard drive and erased it. This
only resulted in the browser saying can't find the page
instead. How do I erase this strange association?

I know the problem is located within this computer
because the other one I have does not have the same
problem even though they share the internet connection.

Some trojan/virus will change your HOSTS file and play havoc with your
search.

It may be a HOSTS file problem.
Look for a file named HOSTS (no extension, could be hidden) rename it
OLDHOSTS.
