Wrong display of smallmoney data in a linked SQL Server table

I linked a table from a German version of SQL Server 2000 in an English
version of Access 2003.

The SQL Server table includes smallmoney fields. If I access the SQL Server
table with an English version of Enterprise Manager the fields are displayed
correctly, but if I open the linked table in Access the values are all wrong.

The value 240 is displayed as 24.000,00 €. The value 1140 is displayed as
1,14 €. Even it shouldn't it seems to be a problem with the different use of
comma and period for displayig numbers in Amerika and Europe. But it might be
also a prolem wih the smallmoney data type.

Can anybody help?

I linked the same tables into a German version of Access, but the result is
the same. there must be a major problem or a special setting.
