Wrong day after clearing BIOS

Recently I upgraded my BIOS (Fujitsu-Siemens MS-6585 Motherboard (OEM)), now the wrong DAY shows up when setting up the time in BIOS, i.e; today is 20th of March 2004, which is a Saturday, but the BIOS automatically works it out to be a Thursday with no way of manually setting the day. I'm at my wit's end, windows update wont work or automatic time syncronize over the net, any help PLEASE

TIA Mark

Watch when you first start the system. You should see a message like "Press
<Del> to enter Setup." (The actual key may change.) Press the named key and
set the correct date in the BIOS.

Check to make sure you've selected 2004 and not 2009.

I know how to get into BIOS & change the date, but the DAY (in BIOS) doesn't correspond to it, some how BIOS is automatically bringing up the wrong day, which I can't change manually, any help?

The day of the week is calculated using the date. If the date is right but
the day of the week is wrong, the BIOS has an error in it and you should
flash a fresh copy.
