Wrong amount of processors reported in Computer Management

Hello.

I just installed a 2nd processor in my Dell Poweredge
Windows 2000 server. It installed the multi-processor
kernal automatically, but for some reason it is reporting
4 processors as opposed to 2 in Task Manager, Computer
Management, and under the system environment variables.
Any ideas on what I should do? I have already updated the
system BIOS.

Thanks!

Hi,

You don't have to do anything
Most likely your server has Hyperthreading technology
enabled in BIOS. This allows one physical CPU to run
multiple threads simultaneously, acting as 2 CPU's.
Thus, one physical processor looks like two logical
processors to the OS and applications.
