writing to folder on remote server using VPN

The situation is that user can access server with vpn
connection, but unable to create document or folder on
remote server. The tunneling used is of PPTP. I am routing
via Win2k and I have given permissions to folder. Need
more suggestions for solution to allow users to write and
update folder. Thanks

Does the user present valid credentials to the server?

Try mapping a drive using the username options in net use. eg

net use \\server\share /user:[email protected]
