Greetings
I need to write a new mbr on my hard drive. I have a SATA
drive that needs a driver loaded during install. When I boot
the XP cd and try to get into the administration to write
a new mbr, XP says it doesn't see any drives because I haven't
loaded any drivers.

How do I write a new mbr with SATA drives?

Thank,

Richard Swanson

Not sure what you are attempting to do here.

If you are trying to install the New SATA drive as a secondary drive, then
merely use the driver given to you by the manufacturer and then go into
device manager and disk management and initialize the drive. If trying to
install onto this drive (XP) simply Press F6 at the first part or the
install and provide the proper driver.

I am trying to write a new "master boot record" on my primary
hard drive to erase a boot manager that is installed there.

Thanks,
Richard
