Writer protection

This problem is driving me mad please help.!I want to transfer pictures from
my computer back to my SD card but when i drag them to my removable drive
(folder misc) i get an error message saying the disk is writer protected and
it cannot copy or replace files remove writer protection or use another disc
What does this mean ? I have tried a different drive but the same message
appears help

My writer problem thankyou all for youre help.I am using a Pure Media card
512.I tried taping up the card but no good I then found that the small white
"blob" next to where it says lock, actually moves so i moved it as far
forward as it will go and hey presto pictures are now flowing back to my card
..Thanks to all of you who sent in replies,it was a silly little problem but
also very annoying.How are we supposed to know ? I can now watch my photo
viewer display all my images.

You obviously never spent any time using floppy disks which have a write-protect
tab similar to what you found on your card.
