Write to file failed

Q

Quentin Huo

Hi,

I am working on win XP prof. and IIS 5.1. I created an ASP page to write
something into a file in the folder: c:\inetpub\wwwroot. But I got an error
message when ran the program: "write to file failed".

From IIS management, I unchecked the box "Anonymous access" and only checked
the "integrated windows authentication" box. It works In IE!

But from Netscape, it always prompts me an account challange when I tried to
access this page. It doesn't work, even I use my system login account (my
system account has 'administrator right'). Where is the problem? How can I
fix this?

Thanks

Does IUSR_<machinename> have write access to the folder?

You got a different error than that, post the *full* error message.

It should.

fix this?

Can't. Netscape won't do Windows Integrated. Use standard for
Netscape users.

Hi,

How to know if the account has write access the folder? Right click on the
folder, but I cannot find the security item.

Please tell me where and how to do this.

Thanks

Hi,

What do you mean "Use standard for Netscape users."? The "standard" means
"Anonymous access"?

Hi,

Thank you for your quick reply.

Wierd! I did this, but in the Porperties there is not a security tab. There
are only 4 tabs: general, sharing, web sharing and customize. BTW, I am
working on windowsXP prof.

Any idea?
