write to cd option not available

I've been wrestling with my desktop computer to try and write pictures to CD. The tutorial makes it seem simple, but the "copy to CD" isn't available under the picture task option. I had to enable my laptop by clicking on the CD writer's Properties, Recording, then checking a box. The "Recording" tab is not on the properties of my desktop. Roxio Easy CD creator was pre-loaded on my hard drive, and it will make CD copies. I looked on this newsgroup and tried the run program which was supposed to help. (It was some regs dll line and the computer took it ok, but it didn't make the option available. ) The lap-top works fine, both are running xp

Thanks.

First, try this.
Click on Start, click on Run and type the following in the textbox:
REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL
and press the Enter key.
Note that there is a space between ...32 and SHI..
Now look if you have the Copy to CD Command and look for the Recording tab
to set Enable.

If this does not work, open Roxio, click on Help and About Roxio to find out
the version of Roxio you have.
If you have less than 5.3 this is a real pain. You will have to update it.
If you have 6.0, not bad. Use it instead of XP and make a data disk to copy
photos, but I would still update or upgrade this to 7.0. If you have 7.0,
pure pleasure. Use it instead of XP. To copy photos you just select copy
files (there is no photo option as such) or select create a slide show.
