WPF on embeded device.....

I never ever installed an embeded device, yet I'm the .NET expert in our
company.
Now both comes to play as I advocated WPF application and we would like to
use it, yet we are woeking with diskless touchscreen with 1GB of memory.

I though that XPe should be our OS of choice, but then, it seems, XPe only
supports .NET2
(according to: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/embedded/aa731258.aspx)

I found it incredible, the MicroFramework does support it, how come not XPe?

Anyway what could be my solution? Any tip?
How could I use WPF on an embeded device?

XPe supports .NET 3.0 with the addition of Update Rollup 1.0
