WOWEXEC

Christy

I have a Windows 2000 pc that runs Word Perfect 6.1.
Ntvdm.exe and wowexec.exe processes run for the 16 bit
application. However, when I go to shutdown, I receive an
End Program error on wowexec. I am unable to close out
this error or access task manager. I have to manually
power off the pc. Is there a reason why wowexec does not
end properly. I know that ntvdm.exe and wowexec.exe
remain in memory, but they do not end when shutting down
the pc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Maybe there is some corruption in the WOW. Try running SFC /SCANNOW from
the cmd prompt
