I am continously receiving an e-mail from my server telling me that a worm
has ben detected by thier firewall to have come from my computer. They say it
is hard to detect and is called a "network worm". The e-mail goes on to say
I should update my worm remaoval tool. None specified.
Is this a hoax or something?

What, or whose, server is this?

Who is sending these messages? From your ISP? Have you checked the message
headers to investigate, and have you tried contacting them directly?

Presuming you've got your computer patched/updated, protected with a
firewall, good, regularly updated antivirus software that runs resident, and
practice safe hex, you probably don't have anything wrong.

There are anti virus News Groups specifically for this type of discussion.

microsoft.public.security.virus
alt.comp.virus
alt.comp.anti-virus

You need to provides facts. None are noted.

Extracts (with private date obfucated) from the email Headers and Body would help.
What kind of environment is this ? Home, office or enterprise ?
