If you are then putting back files that you copied or backed up, the trojan
or virus may well have been reintroduced into the system(they could have been
'backed up' just like the good stuff!). I think you should be able to scan
the back ups, if indeed that is the problem. Good luck!

thanks for that but i am not reinstalling copied files, i wondered if they
were in hidden section of the hard drive, as the day and date stay correct.

restoring the disk to factory settings does not have anything to do with the
correction of the problem. You still have all the registry entries for
those worms, etc. Setting factory default does not remove those.
Read the worm removal instructions, turn off system restore, then proceed
with the removal. When everything is okay, turn system restore back on.
Make sure all of your programs, spybot, etc, are up to date. You should
also use SpyWare Blaster, Ad-Aware SE, and a firewall.

You can get free version of the programs you don't already have at this well
trusted site.

Are you running anti virus software? Is it up to date? Firewall?
If you are connecting to the net before you have your anti virus
running you will be re-infected within minutes.
