We have a network with all the workstations in a workgroup (they are actually
imported into eDirectory and managed from there)
My question is when I go to… My Network Places\Entire Network\Microsoft
Windows Network\Workgroup I can only see about 20 workstatoins (including a
couple of servers).
This is the same view as on another colleagues machine.
Why are some machines showing and some are not?
My other problem is when trying to connect to a machine by
\\IPaddress\admin$ on some machines I get…. “Username=machine_name\guestâ€
which is greyed out and cannot be changed and the password box. The guest
account on this machine is disabled.
On other machines I get a blank Username and password box, so I can enter in
Administrator and the password and get onto the machine.
I am trying to find some sort of pattern here as I would think that these
things are probably linked (only guessing)
Any ideas???????
