Workstations cannot logon to domain

Hi there,

I got 1 Win2000 Server (DC) and 100 workstations. All the
while is OK. Suddently today half of the workstations
cannot logon to the domain with error message "Cannot find
the domain". I can ping from server to workstation and
from waorkstations to server. I check the server event log
and found the following error:

source: NETLOGON
error id: 5722
Details: "The session setup from the computer WS1 failed
to authenticate. The name(s) of the account(s) referenced
in the security database is WS1$. The following error
occurred: Access is denied. "

So I need to re-join domain again for all the workstations.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Chai,

One thing you need to check is the Global Catague server. If this is not
online you wont be able to logon.
Check the AD database and make sure there are no problems there, ie try
viewing the Active directory users and groups on the DC, just to make sure
it is running ok. Then finally check out DNS can you resolve names on the
network if you cant then you will have just the sort of problem you are
experiencing.
