I changed my computer's from a stand alone pc to workstation on the advice in a newsgroup and want to change it back to it's previous role as a PC. Now I don't remember how I did it . Also for some reason System restore will not let me restore to an earlier point even though there are plenty of restore points. I keep getting "restoration incomplete". Help

What do you mean change a PC to a Workstation? A PC IS A Workstation.
Do you mean change PCs?
Do you mean change from Workgroup to Domain?
