WORKS setup encounters errors

I went to your FAQ and did everything suggested when setup encountered
problem during installation. Says might have something running in
background. I exited all spy and virus software, firewall, even did config
and made it only loads specifics at startup. I also went to the task manager
and looked in processes and a number of things running but I do not know
which I should close I tried a few and said might result in errors and upset
the system.

In task manager no application was running. This is becoming a nuisance to
try to install the works package. I am running XP.

Would appreciate some help.

Thank you.

Went to what FAQ? This isn't Microsoft you're talking to. This is a
public newsgroup hosted on Microsoft servers and most of the people who
help here are volunteers and do not work for Microsoft.

If you are having a problem installing the MS Works program, then post
to a newsgroup dealing specifically with Works. This newsgroup is for
the XP operating system. Here is a list of all the Microsoft newsgroups
so you can find one for MS Works:

http://aumha.org/nntp.htm

When you post to the Works newsgroup, make sure you include details
about your computer, what you have done, and the text of any error
messages.

It says "setup encountered a problem during installation. You might have to
a virus scanner or other pieces of software running in background>''
Thanks.
