Works error dialog

I just opened Works 7.0 word processor, and was treated to a dialog
box stating that I have over 500 fonts on my computer, and that I need
to remove some because they will not display correctly if I do not
remove some..

This I do not understand.. The computer should not care if I have 500
fonts or 5000 fonts..

I have a number of greeting card programs, broderbund's print shop, as
well as custom cheque creation software, and all of these applications
have installed many fonts (the cheque software installed 400 fonts
itself)..

So, is this some sort of a limitation of Works, or of XP? And how
serious is it really?

JM - really not wanting to get rid of fonts...

You got the dialog box when you opened Works, did you not. If it were a
Windows limitation, do you think you would get the warning at random
intervals when you are doing "just about anything"?

I do!

I have over 700 fonts now and have not had any similar warning.

It may be a WORKS limitation, a WORKS newsgroup can advise.
But there is probably a regedit to change the number.
I've got a 365 fonts and have all the WORD, FrontPage and
Publisher fonts. I don't have WORKS so I can't advise
further except to say you can create a storage folder for
fonts and keep the fonts you're using in the FONTS folder.

Either of Works - or possibly of your copy of Works remembering limits
back in Windows 95/98

I don't know... This is the latest version of works... Unfortunately,
I bought the wrong works version ( I meant to buy "works suite", and
bought plain "works" by mistake... That is what I get for trying to do
too many things at one time).. So now I am sort of stuck with it for
the time being..
