Let say that I have a laptop with HD capacity always much smaller then
desktops. I'm thinking about keeping data (for example - clients' tax filr
from several years, current included) on writible CD/DVD. Since I often
work with the same files changing/amending it involwes a lot of
reading/writing. But. backup of CD/DVD might be easier and storage easier,
I think.
Ant comments, ideas, warnings?
Is this possible?

This approach works. Expect access to be slow if you are using it as working
media, and you must be aware of the read/write cycles supported by the
media.

And as with any kind of data like this, you must verify the backups and
keep duplicates in a physically different location.
