Workgroups are duplicated

Dan

I have two separate dbase that have been split into front
and back ends. Somehow the workgroup information (file,
users, permissions, and all) for dbase1 is being used in
dbase2. However, I created a completely different
workgroup file for dbase2 and should have nothing to do
with dbase1.

Under tools/security/Workgroup Adm. in dbase2 I go
to "Join" the appropriate workgroup, which it allows me to
do, but then the workgroup information also changes for
dbase1.

Please help

The workgroup you join using the workgroup administrator is active for all
databases. To bypass the joined workgroup you have to open the database with
a shortcut that uses the /wrkgrp switch. The general syntax is:

"FullPathToMSAccess.exe" "FullPathToDatabase.mdb" /wrkgrp
"FullPathToSecure.mdw"

Lynn,

Thank you. I have already set up the shortcuts using the
structure you illustrated below. Each database has it's
own shortcut on my desktop; the only difference in the
path is the "location of access" "location of front end
dbase" and /wrkgrp "location of workgrp dbase1.mdw" and
the other "...dbase2.mdw".

However, Access opens dbase1 it could be using dbase2's
wrkgrp...

Any thoughts?
