We've been trying to set up a workgroup and the firewall
in SP2 seems to be getting in the way. We have the file
and printer sharing exception enabled, but the only time
we can connect to other computers is when the firewall is
disabled. Is there any way to connect while the firewall
is enabled?

The file and printer sharing exception should do what you want. Make
sure that:

1. These ports are opened: TCP 139, TCP 445, UDP 137, UDP 138.
2. The scope includes the local subnet.

Is there another software firewall (e.g. ZoneAlarm, Norton Internet
Security) running? If so, you can't run SP2's firewall, because using
more than one firewall can cause network problems.
