Workgroup Info Files

What can be done if you do not know the exact format of an
information file and can not recover the original?
Clients cannot access the database because of the missing
Workgroup Information file.

You can hope the database isn't properly secured. Try opening the file with
the system.mdw file ... find and rejoin that.

Do you not have a backup of your important files? How about the printout
that was generated when you built the .mdw file. You can recreate from
those, but it appears yours are missing.

Check the Security FAQ for steps in desecuring the database. Don't know how
far you'll get, buy it may help.

If all else fails, you can always hit the Internet and look into the
utilities that recover usernames/passwords for you.

Ahhh ... muddled thinking ... believe I've got the flu bug that's going
around!!! Of course you're right. Kinda hard to get passwords out a file you
don't have!!

But what a protection against the products in question!

"TC's amazing new product, "Password Guard", completely
removes the ability of 3rd-party products to extract the
passwords from a workgroup file!"

(run product - see all workgroup files instantly found & deleted ... )
