Workgroup computers requiring Log in

Sorry if this has been addressed elsewhere I could not find it. In a
peer-to-peer workgroup, all XP Pro, certain computers require a log-in from
certain other computers when trying to access. Each computer has shared
folders accessible to everyone. What I don't get is why some computers get
right on to the shared folders while others are asked for a log in. Also each
computer only has one account. Thanks!

Is simple file sharing turned OFF on all affected computers?

John,

Remember "Everyone" means all authenticated users. Is the Guest account
activated, for network access, on all (or no) computers?
