Workgroup Administrator in Windows 2000

I have a secured database created in Access 97 using
Windows 98.

I am trying to access the database on a machine using
Access 2000 and Windows 2000. I have used Workgroup
Administrator to join the workgroup (created on the other
machine) and the join shows to be sucessful.

I still can't access the database.... Any ideas...

On my Windows 2000 computer, when I start MSAccess 2000,
it prompts me for a username and password and accepts it
(the same user name and password that is associated with
the secured database / MSAccess97). I then get the
following error message:

(In Bold) The current user account doesn't have permission
to convert or enable this database, and lists the
following solutions:

To convert or enable a database, ensure the following:
You must join the workgroup that defines the user
accounts used to access this database.
Your user account must have open/run, and open exclusive
permissions for the database object.
Your user account must have modify design or administer
permissions for all tables in the database, or it must be
the owner of all tables in the database.
Your user account must have read design permission for
all objects in the database.
Request that all users close the database.

I helped develop the database and am assigned all
privlages to all objects. I am not the owner. No other
user has the database open. When I log onto it from other
Windows 98 / MSAccess97 machines, I have no problems
opening, designing, and administering the database. It
only occurs on this one Windows 2000 / Access 2000 machine.

Ok, not sure what that nmight be. Are you certain that you are using the
correct workgroup file, on the one "bad" PC? Perhaps the file on that PC has
been accidentally overwritten with a different one? Perhaps the target of
your startup shortcut, is not correct (on that PC). If you are not >using< a
shortcut to start the database, perhaps someone has used workgroup
administrator to choose a different workgroup file (on that PC)?

TC
