Workbook 2007 icon shows error - where is it?

Hi

I have a workbook where when i see if in the file/open window has an
exclamation ! mark within the icon, indicating an error somewhere. how do i
find out where the error is

I'm not sure how you concluded that. I'm pretty sure it's the icon used
with XLSM files, i.e., workbooks with macros.

so it is vb code problem?

No it's not a problem. Just a warning that macros are present.
