Work Offline

It looks like Access 2007 has made some provisions for working offline. I
have a database which I share with my assistant with the back-end tables on
our company server. I would like to be able to work in the database offline
when I am away from the office. Is this possible in Access 2000 or 2003?
Thanks for any help.

Steve,

What do you mean by "offline"? Do you mean remotely? It isn't a matter of
Access having the provisions. Windows has them. You can hook up via
Terminal Services or VPN. You can also use a third party program like
PCAnywhere which ties up a workstation.

God Bless,

I can connect in through VPN though I am finding this painfully slow. What
I'm asking is can you save data in local tables (i.e., on my laptop's hard
drive) and have them "synch" with the network upon reconnecting. I think this
requires a microsoft exchange server but I was just wondering if there was an
easier way. Thanks.

Search the help for "replication".

Like Keith suggested, Replication (I have never used that) or terminal
services, which I find to work well.
