Words show up as links on web pages.

After returning from a 2 week vacation I notice certain words (example: job) are automatically underlined and appear to be links when they are on a web page. I don't remember changing any settings. Is there a way to prevent these words from appearing as links? Should I restore my system to an earlier date

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
