When using Word i would like to stop words moving onto the next line when
typing, so that when the end of the line is reached it does not move onto the
next one. Please help its driving me mad!

I don't know of any way to turn off word wrap entirely (Word must wrap text
at the margin when printing), but you can change the display by using "Wrap
to window" in Normal view (Tools | Options | View).

Perhaps hyphenation is what you want? To enable automatic hyphenation:
On the Tools menu, click Language, and then click Hyphenation. Check
"Automatically hyphenate document", and then click OK.
