wordpad

Patrick

Due to virus problems we had to re-boot and reload all
files They have reloaded in wordpad and as such have re
formed and we can not view in normal word form. Also
excel files also refuse to re load as the program is not
recgonised.
Help

Your file associations for DOC and XLS files seems to have been changed
either by the virus, or by the restoration process. Search "help" for
"file association" if you want more info on this.

Perhaps the simplest way to get it all back to "normal" would be to
un-install Office, then re-install it. That will set all the settings
back to what you expect without much bother.
 
Hi Patrick,

You need to do a repair installation of your MSOffice product. Simply insert
the original installation media and follow the prompts.

Wordpad is not Word.
Word is not part of Windows XP.
Excel is not part of Windows XP.
Reinstall MS Office, which, despite the latest version being named "Office
XP" is STILL not part of Windows XP.
You won't be able to read the files without the proper programs installed.
