Wordpad: "Unable to load graphics conversion filter".

I have a .DOC file which is an explanation (text and graphics) of a
set of flights for Flight Simulator 2004.

I cannot get it to open with the included graphics (maps etc.). I
believe it is a Word 97 document.

Are there "graphics conversion filters", that I can get (legally), to
open this document correctly in my XP's Wordpad program, or will I
need MS Office to open it?

You might copy it and paste it into Paint which will accept graphics.

Ramesh's advice is right. You could also download Open Office which is
very (not 100%) compatible with MS Office and is free (open source).
