Word XP Footer

Having an issue with Word XP footers. In one logon
profile, the footer displays with extra spacing inbetween
letters. I can log onto the same machine with a different
profile, and the file displays correctly. I then log onto
a separate machine with the problematic roaming profile,
and the word doc stills has the format issue. I've blown
away the local profile on the pc, and the roaming profile
on the server, and the issue follows the user. Any
suggestions?
Thanks.

Hi Steve

Am I right in understanding that, when the problem profile person logs on, opens Word, does File > New and chooses Blank Document,
and creates a footer, then the footer has extra spacing?

If that's the problem, then the cause is probably that the Footnote Text style in this profile's normal.dot has extra spacing. To
fix it, open Word while logged in with the problem profile. File > New and choose Blank Document. Create a footnote. You'll see that
the footnote is in style Footnote Text. Format > Styles and Formatting. In the pane on the right, right-click Footnote Text and
choose Modify. Tick the "Add to template" box. Make whatever changes are necessary and click Close.

Close the document and exit Word. If you're asked whether you want to save normal.dot, say yes.

Hope this helps.
