How do I set up my pc so that when I have several Word documents open, it
simply shows one window with the number of docs open, instead of each one
with its name?

In Word 2002 and 2003, you can click on Tools | Options | View |
uncheck the "Windows in Taskbar" box | OK. Word 2000 does not
have this option built-in, but you can download a Word add-in
from http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/SDIMDI.htm that
will let you do the same thing.
