How do I open more than one Word window at a time?

I'm using Word 2002, SP3. I used to be able to have more than one Word
document open at the same time. But somehow the settings changed so
that I now only can open one document at a time. How do I change it
back?

What happens is that the Word window opens another window INSIDE it for
the document. And only one document can be visible at a time in that
window, which can be moved around.

I have another computer with the same version of Word where I can have
more than one document open side by side and visible in my task bar.
But I can't figure out how to duplicate that setting in this computer.

I want to be able to have many Word documents open at once, with all
their task bar buttons visible at the bottom. But there's no way to do
that as long as I have that separate document window nestled inside the
main Word window. When I go between documents, only one doc shows up
at a time.

I hope you can help!
