Word troubles.

I'm afraid that, for the longest time, I've either used .docs or a Microsoft
Office knock-off that came with my old machine. I am unable to make certain
features work, and my friends don't have these problems. I'm turning to you
guys for help.

I enter Microsoft Word all casual-like to do some typing. If I indent, it
indents everything. If I align something, it indents everything. If I add
bullets, it puts the bullets at the top always.

I'm having this problem with both XP and Vista. Any suggestions?
 
Paragraph and Tab Settings? How do I go about that? Also, it's in Vista but
it also does so in XP.
 
Ah, it's Vista. The link the fellow posted didn't help at all, I'm afraid.
