Word Spreads contents over full eleven inch page heigth.

I've been using Word XP just fine. Then this afternoon it spread the page
over the full eleven inch height of the page. There were several other
rather colorful things it was doing as well. I was not able to find where
one could set the frame size, so was not able to try that approach. Could
not print from Word. What should I do to get back to where I was.
