Word should allow Arrange options like Excel.

The Excel Window/Arrange menu allows users to Arrange documents by: Tile,
Horizontal, Vertical or Cascade. It has for years. The Word Window/Arrange
menu, on the other hand, automatically arranges windows Horizontally. 99% of
the time when I want to see 2 documents, it's going to be side by side. Why
doesn't Word allow this after all these years and versions?

As Suzanne pointed out, they incorporated the side-by-side capability in Word
2003. For previous versions you need to use the Windows arrange commands.
However, you need to minimize those windows you don't want arranged first.
(You can use the WinKey + m to quickly minimize all windows.)

As for the reason why Word is different from the other Office apps, this is
because Word is a true Single Document Interface (SDI) application, which
means each document opens in a separate window and has its own toolbars/menu
bar. The others are still Multiple Document Interface (MDI) applications,
which means they may open in a separate window but they are still sharing the
toolbars/menu bar, and merely mimic SDI.

IOW, they may appear to be the same but since Word doesn’t share common
functionality with the other document windows they don’t have the same
options.
