Word scrolls insertion point off screen while I'm typing.

I have a new DELL computer with Word 2007 and Vista Ultimate.

Frequently (a few times a day), when I'm typing into a multi-page Word
document and reach the end of a line, Word scrolls the view backwards about a
page or so. The insertion point disappears off the screen, but my text
continues to get added. I have to manually scroll the document to see what
I've typed.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a fix? (It doesn't seem like a
video driver to me--it seems like a Word issue.)

Thanks.

If this is a laptop with a touchpad, make sure you are not accidentally
brushing it with your thumbs.

It's a desktop. And my hand isn't even near the mouse when it happens.

It seems to happen when I'm adding text at the bottom of the screen: I reach
the end of the line (and I keep typing), and suddenly, instead of Word
scrolling down so I can see the new line, Word scrolls in the wrong direction
(back toward the top of the document) and I can't even see the line I used to
be on.

I've downloaded all of the updates for Office and Vista.

(I am using a Microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse. But again, I have the
latest drivers and it doesn't appear to be an input device glitch, but more
of Word miscalculating where the insertion bar is.)
