Word problems

if i select text and press the back key, it does not work in word. i have to
either use the delete key or press the back key to delete character by
character.
 
Select Tools > Options > Edit tab and turn on "Typing replaces selection".

Maria: it sounds like if you have the "Typing replaces selection"
cleared in Tools/Options/[Edit tab]. If so, just check it to solve yr
