Word practically shuts down after 10 hours

After running Office for about 8-10 hours, the programs become very slow or
even require shut down of computer in order to use again. Quitting the
program itself is not enough.

I read some time ago that there is something causing this.

Without knowing what all is running on your system, that's difficult to
answer. I'd suggest looking at your Task Manager and see what's eating up
your resources.

I am running XP Pro and Office 2003. I have checked Task Manager and that is
not the problem. It is always after about 10 hours no matter what.
