word perfect merged documents

I use several documents every day with only minor changes, names mostly, -
which i had set up as a "merged document" which allowed me to quickly move to
the area which required me to insert new information. What is that called in
Word and how do I se t it up? Is this even possible?

Your best bet is probably a form of some type, either a protected form (see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/FillinTheBlanks.htm and especially
the forms tutorials by Dian Chapman that this article links to) or a
UserForm (see http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Userforms/CreateAUserForm.htm).
